The conceptual design began in a smaller scale than it appears now. We had a strict plot size through which we were not able to go wider in design. It was a challenge where the requirement has to be fulfilled in context to vasthu. Therefore, the plan was to have couple of bedroom in the ground floor and have a living with dining attached to an open kitchen. The staircase was moved to the front and the first floor follows. The first floor is a typical design as below, where a huge balcony sits on the west side of the building and a pantry follows the kitchen. We decided to enhance the appearance of the staircase by adding both natural and artificial lighting to it. We wanted the combination of both brick and glass to add that eccentric feel. The glass allows the natural light to the building and the brick wall seals it. The morning is enlightened with the sun and at the night, the artificial lights steals the show with the beauty of the moon.
